Olive, the Mule Deer

Last year a young deer was confiscated from some people who raised her like a petting zoo candidate. She is completely comfortable with people. As a result, we are unable to place her into the wild. She will help us raise fawns by allowing us to bottle feed they young next to her. This will confuse them until they are old enough to eat on their own. No longer in contact with people, the fawns will bond with Olive until they are old enough to be released.

Olive is currently in our newly completed 4,000 square foot enclosure that has an unhindered view of the creek area where indigenous deer often pass in the evening as well as one way glass windows that are set vertically to allow even the littlest visitor an opportunity to view the deer. Olive now has a domain she can call home.
